How Armored Agent Began

Armored Agent was born out of FRUSTRATION.

See, I work with sales professionals every day. And I was tired of seeing so many of them FAIL. 

It didn’t matter what production level the individual was at. It didn’t matter if they were absolute rockstars at their craft, networked like champs, or closed a record number of deals.

It’s no secret that working in sales is tough. Actually, saying it’s tough is an understatement….it can be draining, infuriating, overwhelming, unpredictable, and dramatic.

It can also be exciting, challenging, rewarding, and INCREDIBLY lucrative. If you are a sales professional at the top of your game, your earnings can be astronomical.

So, I get the allure of sales. You get to call many of the shots. You get to build something you can call your own. You get to chase a lofty goal, and if you earn it, you get to reap the amazing rewards. For these reasons, I understand why so many people decide to jump in with sleeves rolled up and a big smile.

For many agents, independent contractors and distributors, this is where the wheels come off and reality sets in. This is the beginning of the end for so many…..and they don’t even know it’s happening. 

Do either of these scenarios sound like you?

> You sign the paperwork, you get your starter kit and you’re off to the races. You’re unstoppable. You talk to everyone you know. Business starts rolling in. Your phone is ringing. You get busy (AWESOME!). You see an influx of cash and there’s chatter about you already expanding. Great problems to have….but you’re overwhelmed. You still have crazy bills and you don’t quite understand where all that hard-earned cash goes every month. Something feels off, but you can’t put your finger on it. Despite the success, you feel financially aimless.

In either case, you failed before you started, and you didn’t even know it. Frankly, how could you have known? You’ve taken all of the sales training, you’re passionate about what you do, you love talking to people….so it seems like everything should be lining up. So what’s going on?

Top producing, long-lasting winners in these businesses understand first and foremost that they are entrepreneurs. They are small business owners with two P&L’s to manage….their business and their personal. They understand that as independent contractors, their only boss is looking back at them in the mirror.  They must effectively control themselves—and their money—in order to win. They understand that once the business is put together correctly, they can out-earn just about every working professional out there in any industry, but this does not happen overnight. Finally, they understand that as any business must reinvest in itself to grow, they must also reinvest—in the business, in their personal wealth building and in their education. Just as companies must evolve to stay relevant and prosper, so must the independent contractor.

Pursuing financial education and wealth should be exciting, joyful and fun. It should be an exciting challenge that one is willing to embark upon.

We must become savvy with budgeting, extraordinary with our personal and business finances, and set ourselves up for incredible wealth. We already have the tools: the entrepreneurial, go-getter mindset, the willingness to put ourselves out there, the thick skin honed from many rejections, the drive to go get business and bring home the bacon. We fight for our clients’ best interests every day….so why not put those skills to use for ourselves?

It’s time to become armored. Armored with tools to help us structure our own deals and business systems. Armored with an unbreakable mindset that tells us every day that we are deserving of this wealth. Armored with the ability to manage this wealth responsibly and deploy it for good: for building up our legacy, for charitable giving, for buying back precious time, for creating lasting memories with our closest loved ones.
